Description
Fundi™ Monitor™ is a powerful tool that enables the user to ensure that one or more applications are running at all times. Once the user has instructed Monitor to maintain an application, Monitor will launch the application if it is not running and restart it whenever it finds the application not running.
This is very useful when the user maintains an application that is prone to crashing, such as the on-line game servers so many people now operate on the Internet. An on-line game server is a computer to which players can connect to play one or more game(s) against one another; such a computer typically needs to run some game software on a continuous basis (often round the clock) and cannot be allowed to sit idly when the game software crashes (as these sometimes do). When the user installs Monitor, he or she can rest assured the game software (and therefore the server) will always be up; Monitor restarts the software within seconds of a crash, enabling players to reconnect to the server and continue playing.
Other users of the software often employ it to keep home security software running; someone who needs to keep an eye on video (or other) surveillance equipment from a remote location may use Monitor to ensure the remote machine stays up. Examples of this use include boat owners who typically reside away from the location where their boats are kept, and those who access closed-circuit cameras installed at remote locations.
Monitor offers remote control capabilities to the user who operates a remote server to which he only has access over the Internet. The user can, for instance, instruct the copy of Monitor running on the remote machine to stop or restart an application, to stop or start monitoring an application, etc.
