Mail Guard
Description
Mail Guard™ was originally released in 1997 to intense public attention, meriting the attention of both the New York Times and the Financial Times of London. It was not only the world's first anti-spam application, but it introduced several new ideas to the on-line world. These included the twin concepts of white lists and black lists (lists of persons from whom the user does and does not wish to receive e-mail); the automation of the process by which an unknown sender of e-mail would be consigned to either the white list or black list (by requiring the sender to respond to a challenge issued by the application before the sender would be approved), and the concept of viral marketing, by which every challenge issued by the application contained a single line of text inviting the recipient to download and evaluate the application for themselves.
Mail Guard was the first of its kind and a fine application, but in these days of smart phones and tablet PCs it has been superseded by a suite of other, more sophisticated applications. It is therefore no longer distributed. We thank you for your interest and apologize for any inconvenience.
Please download and evaluate any of our other applications. Every one of our applications proudly proclaims its kinship with Mail Guard, exhibiting the family traits of quality, innovation, ease of use and usefulness.
